Welcome to your information site on Young Drivers Insurance. This website was set up with the main intent to provide you with information about getting your first car’s insurance. We understand it’s a hard task to pick the right insurance company and that’s why we’re here to give you all the back up you need to ensure you get the right insurance provider. This site was set up with the help of young people your age trying to find the cheapest quote as we understand it’s not cheap out there!
I remember my first insurance quote, I believe it was in the region of £7,000. Utterly ridiculous and I was wondering how their company survives when there are other companies providing cheaper quotes than that! I eventually come out with the lowest quote I could get of £1160 and that’s still a lot!
Some insurance companies simply don’t insure young drivers because they believe they are more likely to have an accident. That being true as you don’t have experience, you still don’t want to be hit with a massive amount to pay just to get your car on the road! It’s important to make the right decisions in the Insurance game because it can deal with situations that will affect the rest of your life.
An accident can occur at any time, it may not be your fault but you want to make sure you have the right cover and you know the ins and outs of your contract. Insurance can be daunting for a first time buyer and we recommend getting a family member to help you that has had experience!
I can’t emphasise this topic enough so I thought I’d create a nifty little post on it that will convince your to take your time when finding your insurance. The insurance world is big, very big and when it comes to looking for quotes, you can spend days and days looking and when you think you’ve found the right quote, another one pops up with some other advantages and it costs a little less.
Finding the right one takes patience and finding insurance was like picking your car (or when it comes to picking your car). I personally rushed in to buying my first car and had to bite the bullet when I was hit with a problem with it. I dealt with it and £600 down later I had learnt my lesson and thought it was about time I shared my young drivers insurance information and experiences.
Wow, how can they Charge that?
I was quoted silly prices in the range of £4000 all the way up to £7000 and no one in their right mind would pay this price. For the reference, I didn’t and I went on looking. I contacted insurance brokers and this is where I hit a quote of £1060. That’s still high but it wasn’t too bad. I know people that have got a few hundred pounds cheaper quote and with the same information as me but that’s the way it goes and proves my point, that you shouldn’t jump at the first good quote you get.
Aquire some Help
It’s important you contact someone that has done the whole process before. Be it your family or friends, just find someone that has filled out the paper work, looked at quotes and knows what they are looking for. You, being the new frog in the pond will most likely miss an important piece of information and cause more problems down the line. Learn from them and watch how they deal with the insurance companies, you’ll need to do it one day.
In the United States, insurance plays an important role in people’s lives since people use it to pay for medical bills, protect their property and to pay for unexpected expenses. This means that there is a big market that insurance companies can fill, using the help of insurance agents. These agents are the frontline personnel who sell the company’s insurance policies. The career prospects for insurance agents can be considered to be bright, which means that people who wish to become agents can look forward to a fairly lucrative career. However, before taking the plunge, people still need to be aware of what to expect when they become insurance agents.

Insurance is the concept of paying a certain amount every month in anticipation of a future difficulty like illness, personal injury, accident or death. Insurance has become an absolute necessity these days. With so many insurance companies providing so many different kinds of Insurance Policies and plans, policies are becoming more affordable for all kinds of people. Some kinds of insurance are mandatory, while others are optional.
Insurance can be meant for anything: life insurance, automobile insurance, health insurance, home insurance, property insurance, disability insurance, travel insurance, pet insurance, cycle insurance, recreational vehicle insurance, sports insurance and so on. There can be special policies like flood insurance, ski insurance, student’s content insurance, long-term care insurance, flight, kidnap, extended warranty and others.
Don’t let the idea of what you’ve heard from your friends, “Insurance is a lot of money, leave it a few years” get you down. We understand as young drivers our selves that you wish to get on the road and you know, we can guarantee there’s a low quote out there for you.
It’s all about Time
Insurance quotes don’t grow on trees, and they won’t get handed to you on a plate. That’s certainly not the case and you’re going to have to (with the help of us, obviously) take the searching on the chin. It’s not all bad and you’ll laugh at some of your findings, you really will.
Massive Quotes
Be ready for some amazing silly quotes to be slapped in your face. I was once quoted £7000 as a second driver of a car and I wondered how they are still in business. Don’t worry I won’t mention company names here but be assured it’s definitely disturbing that they want that much money to insurance a young driver.
No one Likes Young Drivers
You’ll get the impression that young drivers are not liked by insurance companies and the cold hard truth is, they do not. They will have an accident and all that racket that they throw at you, but why should you be hit with those costs? A cheap quote is still out there for you and you shouldn’t be penalised for your age.
Many Options
There are many options out there for your insurance, you’ll need to decide on whether you’re going to be able to afford to pay it in one go or whether you will be paying it monthly. Don’t let the stress build on getting a car and the insurance, you’ll regret it if you rush it.
Never done Insurance before?
We understand that you’ll be asking for your parents help, but even still if you have to approach this yourself, you need to understand it and it can all be a little bit too much information to take in. Pace yourself out and you’ll understand it in due time.
It’s exciting getting your first car and everything looks great on the outside, but deep down there are some essentials you should be checking to make sure that the car is not faulty and you’re getting your moneys worth.
This small comprehensive guide will give you something to think about when you go to look at your next car.
HPI Check – Checking your New Cars History
An HPI Check is something that is essential in buying a second hand car.
Check the Outside Thoroughly
It’s important that you don’t take a quick glance round the car. Make sure you look for potent things that will alert you to misuse and they are:
* Small Dings on the Sides
* Scratches Along the Car
* Previous Body Work Changes (including a respray)
* Odd parts, things that really don’t look like they fit
* Oil Leaks underneath the car, are there any?
Not everything is pretty on the outside so it’s time to have a look inside the car and see how the mechanical side is baring.
Checking the Engine
This is a bit more complicated and may need a mechanic to check things over for you. I have not done this and been lumbered with a £600 bill so make sure you check everything is in working order before you purchase anything.
Ask yourself some questions about the engine:
* Are there any untoward sounds coming from the engine?
* Can I test drive the car to see how things are?
* Check for smoke from exhaust or engine
* Timing belt, is your car staggering?
* Are any parts of the engine that look out of place? like they are badly put back together?
* Check the oil and see if there is any evidence of change. If it has not been changed for a while (black oil) then you can expect the cars engine has not been kept properly.
Make sure you are hiring someone to check common things out, then you know you will not be shot in the foot in the future.
